WHO WE ARE

The Latimer Lane School Parent Teacher Organization, Inc. is a group of volunteer parents and teachers that work together to enhance the learning experiences and education of the students at Latimer Lane School.  We are a non-profit organization.

WHAT WE DO

The PTO works closely with school's administration to fulfill school needs not afforded by the school budget. Our PTO has an annual budget of roughly $20,000 that funds a variety of programs including the following:

  • Grants to teachers for classroom materials

  • Grants for all the activity teachers (music, art, library, etc.) and nurse

  • Student technology (chrome books, iPads, digital technology)

  • School beautification projects

  • Recess and playground equipment

  • Cultural enrichment programming

  • Organize and fund school-wide events for students and faculty including the Open Choice Connections Dinner, Halloween Extravaganza, Family Skate Night, BINGO!, Teacher Appreciation Week, Walk/Bike to School Day, and the Spring Spectacular

HOW WE DO IT

The PTO is funded thru its members' donations and its various fundraising activities.  Our largest fundraiser is the Run Back to School 5K and Fun Run. Other fundraising includes Spirit Wear Sales, Dine-Out Nights, the Scholastic Book Fair, the Election Day Bake Sale, and the Box Top Program.  In addition, the Latimer Lane PTO has benefited from the generosity of many of our community businesses like Puerta Vallarta, Little City Pizza, Chipotle, Joe Pizza, and Popovers.

OUR MISSION

The Latimer Lane School PTO mission encompasses three main goals:

  1. To involve parents and school personnel in a cooperative and sustained system which will enhance the educational and social opportunities of the children both in the school and at home.

  2. To advocate viewpoints to administrative staff that will lead to a better analysis of the needs of the students and more relevant program planning.

  3. To sustain parental interest and provide the resources needed by the school personnel to function effectively in a working relationship with parents and other community members.
